Who are you and how long have you been snowboarding?
Hello, I’m Ryan Butler and I’ve been riding since I was a wee-man.
What’s your projected equipment quiver for the 10/11 season?
I have little loyalties to outerwear companies, so we’ll see what this season’s line-up brings; Special-Blend and Four-Square normally have some banger tall-slim fitted gear. What about boots? Well, I’ve been riding Burton Sabbaths for almost five years; Thus, I’m going to try coving my feet this year with Thirty-Two’s. Currently, my board’s equipped with Forum Republics, which were great, but Alternative’s introducing Union Bindings, so I’m going to give those a whirl.
What about your board?
No question, I always ride Bataleon!
What’s so great about Bataleon?
They’re a little company with big innovations! All their boards incorporate a triple-base technology (TBT) that helps transition the board from its effective edges. Basically, the TBT works with the camber to provide twice as much fun that quickly translates to improved jibbing!
So they’re strictly a jib-stick?
Not at all! The contour of the TBT makes shifting weight from edge to edge virtually seamless. Ergo, pre-loading Large Marge is like the prefect double-bounce! Albeit, the TBT helps jibbers slide through kinks, slip in and out of 270’s, and reduces rail-bite.
Fair-enough but I heard Bateleon doesn’t have rocker!
True, they don’t and frankly rocker’s really great if you love l—– w— — ollies and – censored–responsive boards. Sorry to h—-, but Bataleon has a three tiered flex-program that distributes body weight tenfold. I could get into it, but I’d just be repeating what it says on their website! Basically, they free up edge pull and ride like a snowboard should!
Lastly, what’s outlook for this coming season?
Team Rattle-Snake and the F.AG’s are hopefully going to have a banger winter! Spencer will eventually land a nollie front-flip on flat ground (not even moving)! Panama Red might reel in that angry and inject some of his skater influences into his riding. Who knows, maybe we’ll even see that Captain or J-Master P lapping the park?
Yup, its all real (with a little help from some snow) check out their website for the making of the video. Thanks to Hi-Five (Blair Farrington!) for the post on his site. Check it out. Hi-Five.ca
It took a while to get it started, but here’s the video from the Nomis Scavenger hunt. Simon and the crew stashed stuff all over the parking lot in Costco…good times.

So local Nanaimoites and FLav genius’ Justin and Jordi have increased their legendary status by getting an interview with the Daily News and A Channel. We’ll post the video when we get it, but for now, check out the paper article.
