So if you’ve ever visited our store you know that there is a very diverse group of occasionally hard working individuals who man the ship we call AG, and if the hallowed walls of our humble store could talk they’d probably have a lot of stories about dudes hugging, turtle wrestling, lighters being smashed, shoes being thrown on the roof, jiffy markers marking and some cross dressing. Some of the coolest people I have ever met have been through this store and it my personal mission to share these stories and relationships with you, our loyal blog subscribers. So although i haven’t actually interviewed anyone yet here’s a taste of who’s to follow.
Rick Dawson: The man behind 72% of the skateboard graphics you’ve owned, he’s a transplanted Surreyite turned Errington legend. One of the fastest talking, most genuinely kind people you’ll probably never meet. He’s too busy tending his alpaca and designing amazing graphics. Next time you buy a shop deck and think to yourself “This is the coolest shop deck I’ve ever seen” remember this dude.
Evan “Shipwreck” Schuhmann. With the mouth and tattoo’s of a briny sailor, he can be found sabotaging BC ferries during peak season. Ever wonder why the boats late? Blame Evan. He’s also a ripping ’skater boarder’ who drives a vintage Land Rover and can be seen at the skate park hustling smokes and bad advice. He’s also the guy you want by your side if your ever in an alley way boxing match with hobo’s or a shoulder to cry on. His favorite movies include: The Notebook, Father of the Bride, Freaky Friday and Scarface.
Drew “Lil’ Drewski” Burke. Before he was Kegan’s wingman at Storm, Drew was slanging snowboards and keeping AG mom friendly. He’s one of my best friends and the second friend with a Masters. He’s been known to stash cheeseburgers in his pockets, wear silk robes at stags, and have horrible luck with vehicles. He’s also 1/2 of the brains behind the wildly successful ‘zine The Roundabout. If you haven’t checked it out yet go find it on facebook, and click the like button. Expect big things from this ‘lil guy. Oh and he got married last year and it was awesome.
So thats our prelimenary list, I have a hundred more people I’d love to include.
See you soon with our first interview!
